DAL MAKHANI

Process Time : 5/6 Hours


Ingredients :
3/4 Cup Black gram dal (Kali Urad Dal)
1/4 Cup Lentil (Masoor)
1/4 Cup Kidney Beans (Rajma)
1 Big Tomato
8 Garlic Pods
1 Teaspoon Coriander Seeds (Dhane)
1 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
1/2 Teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
1 Teaspoon Chilly Powder
1 Teaspoon Salt or add per taste
 2 Tablespoon Fresh Cream
1/2 Cup Milk
4 Cups Water 
Cilantro for garnishing

Procedure :
Wash Black gram dal (Kali Udad Dal), Lentil (Masoor), Kidney Beans (Rajma) together And soak in sufficient water for 5/6 hours.
After soaking once again wash the dals and start cooking.
Take a pressure cooker/pan, add soaked Dals in it with 3 cups of Water.
Chop Tomato, Peel galic pods add both to a mixer for grinding along with Coriander Seeds (Dhane) & Cumin Seeds (Jeera).
Grind this to a paste and add it to the pressure cooker, Add Garam Masala powder, Salt & Chilly Powder. Stir well,  close the pressure cooker, put the whistle and cook it on the gas on  full flame for one whistle, after one whistle reduce the flame and cook for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes switch off the gas and wait till the steam is released.
Open the pressure cooker and mash the cooked daals thoroughly.
Add Fresh cream & Milk and 1 cup  of water and let it simmer on gas for 5 minutes.
Water consistency of dal can be varied per choice.
Garnish it with chopped cilantro and serve hot.
It goes well with plain rice or roti.
